Hello Team 4,

I hope and pray that you are doing well and enjoying spending time with your loves ones at home. You are all missed dearly at school and by your teachers, but we hope you are continuing to keep up with your learning as much as possible. Even though school work is important, it is equally important to have balance in your day! So make sure you take time to play, exercise, draw, help out at home and do other fun activities daily! I’m positive we will be reunited soon and it will be wonderful to have you back in school!

So far, your daily schedule should include some time for your home learning packs, some time to use the PIXL app for your Maths and also accessing the ReadWorks website. The ReadWorks website is a great way to do some school reading and also read for fun. Remember, that every Monday I assign 1-2 pieces of work for you to do. I also mark this work so look for my feedback when you login. You can also go to the library section and read about a topic you are interested in for fun, then by writing a short comment at the end, I can see what you read and what you liked about it. Make sure you spend little bits of time on each activity! Just like school, it is important to take breaks and have fun throughout the day.

I am posting this half-terms Topic Web on the Ancient Greeks. This is a very fun and exciting topics with many resources available! Your home learning will all link to this topic and include a range of activities for you to do.  I would like you to do your best and complete these at home with siblings, parents, or carers. You can choose which activities you would like to or are able to complete during this time. My suggestion would be to do one activity every day and please email me every Thursday with pictures of your completed work. I look forward to getting emails, pictures and videos to see how you get on with your home learning! Remember it’s all about effort and trying your best, that’s all I ask you to do! Try your best!

Parents: Please send me a weekly email by THURSDAY with updates, pictures, videos, and questions that you have. I will be posting these on the school website and I will also support you in any way possible.  We will be posting these on our ‘What you’ve been up to at home’ tab on the website. Additionally, we will still be sharing good learning, kindness and positivity during our special online sharing assemblies posted on a Friday.

Here are links to some extra fun things that you might like to do whilst you are at home and to while away the hours between doing your schoolwork, reading stories and following your daily routine:

Internet safety learning for all ages

Learn more about the Rights of a Child and support our Rights Respecting School status

Colour your own Rights Respecting Schools book

Whether your child is having trouble with some school work or it is too easy, I am happy to do anything I can to make this time more comfortable for them. I know that by working together we can make this time a bit easier. Reach out to me whenever, I will be checking my emails on a daily basis. I look forward to being reunited soon! In the meantime, be sure to spend lots of time with your families and siblings, enjoy the sunshine, and stay positive! We will get through this together.

Lots of love,

Ms Mehta
