St James Hatcham

Hear from our parents

Hear from our parents

We asked our parent community what they most value about St James Hatcham. We had an overwhelming response - some of the key words are captured here:

What one thing do you value most about St James Hatcham?

We are delighted to share what some of our wonderful parent community think about their experience at St James Hatcham.

We chose St James Hatcham because of the school’s Christian values and because the school is very high achieving, with great testimonies from ex pupils and parents. We joined the school in-year and so far, we have been very impressed. We were welcomed into the St James family with open arms and were made to feel so much at home. My children settled into school life very quickly and speak highly of their teachers and lessons.

Mr Charles, Year 2 and 5 parent

St James Hatcham is an aspirational school with a strong leadership team and teachers who are committed to ensuring every single child develops to the very best of their ability and excels in all areas of school life. My son is happy and proud to put his uniform on and come to school. He loves to learn, and I think it is because of how teachers make learning meaningful by connecting the curriculum to their everyday lives. The school also understand the importance of ensuring students have a voice and a choice in matters that pertain to them. They encourage acts of kindness, consideration and mutual respect by promoting their core values of joy, peace, hope and love.

Mr Williams, Year 1 parent

Headteachers like Ms McFarlane are rare in my experience. Her sense of humanity is admirable and her genuine care and support for the children extends to their immediate family as well. It has been a pleasure to be apart of the St James family. I have nothing but high praises all round. I would happily send my son to their secondary phase if only they had one!

Debbiesha, Year 6 parent

St James Hatcham is a positive, enjoyable and challenging learning environment, based on Christian values, where high standards of teaching and learning ensure that every individual feels respected and valued and strives to reach their full potential.

Ms Giwa, Year 5 parent

The school’s Christian ethos and values instil good morals and attitudes in the pupils. This is evident in the high standards of behaviour and learning at the school.
