St James Hatcham Boys Football: Mary Bennett Shield Competition

This academic year we saw the return of St James Hatcham to the Lewisham Primary School Football Association after a 4 year hiatus!

Our team of year 5 & 6 boys competed against local schools, outperforming all expectations and very narrowly missing cup contention.

This past weekend, the team took part in the group stages of the Mary Bennett Shield Competition.

St James came out on top in their first game against Torridon with a decisive 2-0 win!

The boys wrapped up the group stage with a nail-biting performance against the group favourites, Childerick, with the final score being a 2-2 draw.

Sadly, St James was unable to progress to the semi-finals, just missing out by a goal differential of 0.5.

We are so proud of the efforts and commitment shown by our football team this year and know they will go on to do amazing things!
