School Prayers

School Prayers

Prayer plays an important part in the daily life of our school.

We believe in the power of prayer in bringing comfort, hope and redemption. We pray at the beginning of the school day, during assembly, at lunchtime and at the end of the day. Children are also encouraged to use the school Chapel at any time to say their own prayers.

The Calm School Prayer is said first thing in the morning – this sets the tone for the day encouraging the children to be calm and respectful to each other. The Lord’s Prayer and The Grace are said during assembly reminding children of our Lord’s precious words. The Lunchtime prayer is sung before Lunch, reminding the children to be thankful for the food we have. Finally, a candle is lit at the end of the last session and the children reflect on their day and say the end of school prayer as a reminder that Jesus is there and always will be a friend to them.

Please encourage your children to learn the words and understand their meaning.
