Year 1 - Brookside Primary SchoolBrookside Primary School

We are Holly Class and we’re looking forward to all of the fabulous learning we will do together.

Hello Team 1,

This is the place to find Year 1’s home learning. Whilst we are at school, learning to practise at home will be put on this page each week on Tuesday. There is also a new section for remote learning below. Please use this if your child is away from school for any reason or if the school needs to be closed.

There will be 6 ‘red’ word spellings to practise over and over again as these are all words we use a lot in our talking, reading & writing and they cannot be sounded out. Year 1 will be tested for these spellings on a Monday. You will also find a learning song or activity for Maths. Lastly, there will always be a talking topic which we ask you to discuss with your family members. Feel welcome to make some notes or practise presenting your discussions and we will be sharing these talking discussion topics on a Friday in class.

If you are interested to find out about the learning we are doing in class, head over to the Year 1 blog.

Please email us any home learning at team1HL@st-jameshatcham.lewisham.sch.uk – this is a specific home learning email address for us to use.

Remember, it is trying which is the best way to learn and it’s OK to make mistakes. We have faith in you!
